Scapes are the flowers of the garlic plants. They emerge in late May to early June in our region. , We remove them so the garlic plants devotes maximum energy to creating a large bulb. The scapes are a tasty Spring treat. Try them sauteed or make a pesto.
This season (mid-November 2023) we planted 3 different varieties of garlic: Chesnok Red, Music and Romanian Red. All of our plantings are certified Organic.
